Background

One of the many attractions in Dusseldorf Germany is the Media Harbor which is the home of several television and media stations. The site is especially worth visiting for architecture buffs, with buildings by Frank Gehry, Claude Vasconi, and David Chipperfield lining the harbor. The Media Harbor is also a great site for photographers since the area is filled with buildings with unique lines and shapes that can make for some interesting photos.

How to get this type of shot

Walking around the area, I spotted this scene of one of the Gehry buildings reflecting off of a nearby building. I was drawn to not only the reflections, but the strong diagonal lines created by the opposing building. I had my polorizer on my lens, so I had to dial down the polarization…
